Modeling and experiments to better understand rural livelihoods decision-making
WaterGate
Can playing both sides (upstream and downstream) of a water basin sharing dilemma shift how participants who live in these dilemmas consider the problem?

Mechanisms in this game include an upstream vs downstream water sharing model, and a ‘vote-based’ gate mechanism. Spending options for participants are set by input file, as in all of our game interpreters. Importantly, this game creates both within-group and between-group coordination problems, making it useful for examining such problems across scales.

WaterGate was built from the basic game template, with some functionality (add and reduce buttons, file readers, etc.) ported in from the farmCards interpreter.
